Honeycomb
Book One: Deployment.
Illustrated by Diego “Novanim” Zuñiga
The story
In 1963, a fledgling space program discovers an unnatural body in orbit around the Earth — a sixty-mile-wide, hive-like rock they call the Honeycomb. Thirty years later, its occupants begin to emerge.
Book One: Deployment follows disgraced Navy pilot Jack Walsh as he’s recruited into Dragonfly, a UN black program built to counter the alien “Hornets” slipping through from the Honeycomb — and finds himself wearing another operative’s powered armor sooner than he expected.
Halo meets Evangelion.
The Dragonfly team
A UN black program has had thirty years to prepare for this and still didn’t get there first — Dragonfly exists to react, not to lead. Its operatives fly powered armor named for animals rather than ranks, which tells you most of what you need to know about how the chain of command actually works once the Hornets start coming through.

“A disgraced pilot, a black program thirty years behind schedule, and a piece of alien architecture the size of a small moon — Honeycomb wears its influences on its sleeve and earns every one of them.”
